I spent months agonizing over what would end up being my first eight string. I was originally interest in the $400 models, but was still unsure with such an inexpensive price. However.....
I stumbled across this model and instantly feel in love. EMG pickups! 24-fret!
My friend owns the $2000 Ibanez 8 string model and was thoroughly impressed with it. I ran through amps such as marshall to Bogner, and had nothing but great results. Sounds brutal with those B and F# string, but also encourages creative melodies.
Here's the cons.
1. NO GUITAR CASE (I wouldn't mind as much, but 8 string cases aren't common in stores or online.)
2. NO STRING BOLTS (This feature helps the guitar stay in tune, I miss having it. But the guitar stays in tune pretty damn well)
3. LIMITED COLORS (I know this vain, but a little more variety in looks would be kinda nice.)
Final Tally: Get it. It's a pro enough for those who can't afford the epic models and...
