1st Customer Review : So, I purchased a $229 electric guitar. How good could it be?
The Backstory
I will admit it freely, I am a guitar elitist. I have never owned an electric guitar with a real retail price (not MSRP) of less than $500 in my life. It's sad, but true. For the most part, I have firmly believed that you get what you pay for and that, when it comes to electric guitars, if isn't made by a major manufacturer and prominently played by the pros, it can't possibly be worth owning.
I will also freely admit when I am dead wrong...
Enter the Impulse Purchase
Every year around Christmas I take advantage of the great deals available to "elf myself" - treat myself to a present or two for being a good boy. This year my focus was on the guitar and I wanted to complete my stable of electrics. I went through three Gibson LP Classic Customs with significant fit and finish flaws before I gave up and bought a traditional mahogany LP, that while still not perfect is a beautiful instrument.
