Ready to Rock
The Omen 6 is an affordable axe for beginners and veterans alike, pairing affordability with solid Schecter construction. It features a basswood body for a pronounced tone, suitable for rhythm or lead playing.

The speedy 25.5-inch scale maple neck is topped off with a rosewood fretboard and 24 jumbo frets, with dot inlays.

Schecter Diamond Plus Pickups
These high-output Schecter humbuckers are ready to deliver, whether you're cranking out squealing pinch harmonics or something a little more nuanced.

The three-way switch lets you dial in neck or bridge tones, or in between.

Graph Tech "Tusq" Nut
The precision Tusq nut is made with Graph Tech's "man made ivory," which couples the strings' vibrations to the neck and is impregnated with Teflon to improve the tuning performance of your guitar. Play as hard as you want, bend a few steps, and your strings glide back into tune. The highly resonant material also means you'll get more richness and harmonics from every note.

Dependable Hardware
The TonePros Tune-O-Matic bridge with string-thru-body design means even more sustain and harmonics, and Schecter tuners for plenty of tuning stability.

1st Customer Review : Superb instrument, not just for the price
This instrument really sounds and looks amazing. When I saw the price, I was very surprized, expecting a $450 tag - it was actually $300. After playing the guitar on an amp with all possible effects on it, I was able to prove to myself that it can produce the sounds for any type of music - from hard rock to fusion to vintage rock'n'roll. It is not only a heavy metal guitar, although it can handle the genre with total ease. The guitar's powerful output make it a perfect axe for fusion.

The guitar is contoured like the Fender Stratocaster, but this is where the similarities end:
a) the high-quality Schecter twin humbuckers produce that thick Gibson sound
b) the high-gloss black body has a carved arch top, and the neck is angled back, just as on a Les Paul.
c) the strings go through the body for increased sustain and cool look
e) the neck is bolted 24-fret, giving more elbow room for playing higher up
d) the headstock is smaller, more convenient for...

2nd Customer Review : One of the best guitars in this price range
My main guitar is a Gretsch Country Gentleman, an amazing guitar with a distinctive tone. But I wanted something with a neutral tone for recording different types of music. No matter what effects you run on the Gretsch, you get a vintage meaty sound. So I tested a dozen guitars for 15 minutes or more each, on different effects on two amps on guitars $250 to $500. These included Epiphones, Ibanezes, a Washburn, a few Deans (fail), a Jay Turser (fail), a Gibson, a couple BC Rich's.

This Omen won easily and stood up to testing better than some of the $400 guitars. (There were some $500 guitars that had a slight edge, but not enough to justify the $200).

While Schecter seem to market itself as a metal guitar maker, the only things that stand out to me as being particularly `metal' are the thin neck and dual humbuckers. Knobs are volume, tone, and 3 position pick up switch.

Action is extremely low with no buzzing. They had 9s on it at the shop and I changed...
3rd Customer Review : Great guitar
I've had this guitar since I was 16. I'm nearly 21 and this guitar is still going strong. I haven't had too many problems with it. Just some minor fret wear because of how much play it.

The sound is pretty amazing for a 300 guitar... and it can easily compare to guitars that cost more.( I would know because I have played Ibanez',Epiphones)

The body is made of basswood so it gives you clean, beautiful, warm sounds.

Or with distortion you can get some nice heavy tones. with no muddyness. Great for hard rock or metal.

You seriously can not go wrong with schecter. They know their stuff and give people great deals on quality guitars. The tuners on this guitar are nice. The pickups are great with distortion or clean...just buy it if you are thinking of getting one. Great guitar. Love the heavy crunch for metal!
