1st Customer Review : This guitar plays and sounds great!
I had a chance to play this guitar through a class A 5 watt amp at a party jam. The guy who owned the guitar was from Germany and he was kind enough to let me play the guitar whilst he played some drums. Anyhow, the vintage look caught my eye, and the sound and playability of this instrument were really good. I looked at the guitar's physical appearance and the finished seemed perfect... very smooth transistion between the body finish and molding. The frets and neck had an excellent feel, quite nice fret work. The tone options with the split coil is a welcome feature. The humbucker tone was meaty, had great tone options, and had refreshing clarity and sustain. Of course the amp had a lot to do with the overall tone; nevertheless, the guitar's output was distinctive. I liked this guitar so much that I have researched it a little and wound up here posting a review.
Another reviewer pointed out some apparently shoddy craftsmanship around the f-hole trim. While I did not notice...

2nd Customer Review : A good guitar with a bad finish!!!
Today I tried out a red Schecter TSH-1 just like the one pictured here on Amazon. I was impressed with its sound, eye-catching retro looks and playability but the finish on this guitar was subpar! Around the soundhole where the white trim ends and the red color begins looked very rough and jagged; like it was done by an amateur painter! I also noticed paint under-bleed around the body trim as well. I pointed this out to an associate at Guitar Center and even he was surprised to see that.
Here's my reason why I wont buy this guitar:
I bought an Ibanez Artcore AF-75 hollowbody electric about 8 years ago for $350 (today the same model goes for about $400 but it's still cheaper then the Schecter TSH-1). I scrutinized every square inch of this guitar and the finish was 100% flawless....I'd pair it to the finish on a $3000 Gibson any day! Oh, and another thing, it's made in China. So then tell me why Schecter wants to charge me $550 for a similar guitar and get a crappy...
