1st Customer Review : Great bass, so-so electronics
Okay, first the good news - this is a very well-constructed bass. It's neck-through, long scale, with a very fast neck, and it's made of great wood. The matte finish looks like a stealth bomber, and the hardware finish is a mix of chrome and black that's pretty sharp. I love the body shape, the look of the bass, and the feel of it. It's all very top-notch.
Just a warning that it is a pretty substantial weight. My bathroom scale estimate is that it clocks in at about ten pounds. Get a wide strap, do some stretching, and make sure you're current with a chiropractor. It's not horrible, and it feels nice once you're used to it, but this isn't a plywood lightweight.
My only nits have to do with the electronics. First, these are not active pickups. They are the EMG Hz pickup, which is a passive pickup. A quick search of the various bass forums on the term "EMG Hz" is a lot like searching for opinions on the new Mustang on a Chevy forum. The pickups are okay,...
